Dear friends! On August 2, 2020, the Yusupov Palace reopens the photo exhibition “Rakhlin. Putin. Sambo. Judo. Dekabristov, 21. A Touch of the Origins ", dedicated to the history of Leningrad-Petersburg judo. The exhibition is timed to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the famous Petersburg "Judo Turbo Builder Club". In the Soviet era, here, on the territory of the Yusupovs' estate, there was a gym of the DSO Trud / Admiralty Plant, where sambo wrestlers trained and freestyle wrestlers. In the fall of 1964, a group of teenagers, including 12-year-old Volodya Putin, came to study here in the sambo section of the young coach Anatoly Rakhlin. The exhibition presents unique documents and photographs of different years from the archives of the club and the Rakhlins' family, vintage badges, certificates and awards, a sports uniform of a member of the USSR national team, a vintage sambo jacket. Fascinating and detailed about each exhibit or photographs by the voice of the People's Artist of the Russian Federation Nikolai Burov, an audio guide will tell visitors.
